Hi everyone! I’ve had a lot of people ask me whether or not the kookaburra birds let me pet/pat them so I thought I’d make a video about it! I just don’t do it very often because I don’t know whether or not they like it and don’t want to make them feel uncomfortable!

  • Synchronized Cats

Sadly, Mimi (white & orange cat in the video) was laid to rest yesterday at the age of 9, he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in march this year. he put up a brave fight until the very end.

He was my bestie. Mimi loved his brother Tom (Black and White cat in the video) he always had his back. Iโ€™m grateful for all the incredible love and support you have sent our way. Mimi has gone But never forgotten (22nd Nov 2014 – 26th Dec 2023)

I love how theyโ€™re so confused by the stacking situation they need a good five seconds just to process what happened before they can attempt to extricate themselves.

In that second clip, they were so synchronized that they were literally trying to occupy the same space

They were so synchronized that they almost combined into one being… Truly magnificent

  • Pallas Cat discovers camera

This is legendary footage. I remember seeing a documentary about this clip, the camera was stationed in the Himalayas intended to capture footage of snow leopards and this was a total surprise for the researchers who never thought Manul cats ranged that far or high up.

The way it trots over and then peeks up from below the camera is perfect, what an amazing cat

The way the cat slowly creeps up onto the camera and then slowly descends back is probably the most funniest thing I have ever seen.

I was not expecting this to be as hilarious as it actually was. That cat has epic comedy timing.

  • Encounter a young wild white Arctic Fox in Greenland

As a professional photographer and tourguide I’m traveling to Greenland frequently since 10 years. In this decade I’ve been hiking and kayaking hundreds of kilometers on the in search of the perfect photograph.

I’ve seen thousands of icebergs and glaciers, whales and musk ox and of course wild polar fox, but never a white one. But in September 2018 after a sunrise shot at the disco bay I’ve seen something pure white standing on the top of a small mountain and looking at me. A few seconds later the white thing began to move and disappeared behind the small mountain. So I took my camera with me and began running towards the mountain.

After about 20 minutes I reached the top and of course the pure white fox vanished. So I walked further to the shoreline of Disko Bay. Then while climbing down to a gap in the rocks I saw the fox looking down to me just 2 meters over me. During the next 20min we did make friends and the distance became smaller. Then the unthinkable happened. The fox bit into my lens hood and stayed with me.

  • Baby Arctic Fox Steals Mans Fish

A little arctic fox approached this fisherman while he was ice fishing inLabytnangi, Russia. The man tried to scare him away from his fish, but the baby fox was persistent. Eventually, the fisherman allowed the little white fox to take one of his fish.

  • The Elephant Delinquents of Pilanesberg ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ˜

We delve into the fascinating story of the elephants introduced to the Pilanesberg reserve in 1979. Most of these magnificent creatures were orphans of culling operations, which meant they lacked essential role models to teach them proper behaviour.

๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’” Without guidance, the young bulls started misbehaving, bullying females, and attempting to force them into mating. This resulted in worrying consequences, as the younger elephants became aggressive, attacking rhinos and even numerous tourist vehicles. Tragically, 40 rhinos lost their lives, and one human fatality occurred due to their aggressive behaviour.

๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ข The root cause of this delinquent behaviour was the frustration arising from the rejection the young bulls faced from the females. The females recognized that the younger bulls were not yet fully mature, leading to their refusal to mate. In their heightened hormonal states, the young bulls reacted severely, leading to unfortunate rhino deaths and other aggressive acts.

But this story isn’t all doom and gloom. Over time, efforts were made to address these issues, and the reserve’s management implemented various strategies to help the elephants integrate and develop healthy behaviours.

Join us as we explore the intriguing lives of these magnificent creatures, their challenges, and the inspiring initiatives taken to restore harmony in the Pilanesberg reserve. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒ
